Need a super cheap place to stay? Not too fussy about squeaky beds, very small lockers, slamming doors and dirty bathrooms? Good. I've stayed here several times during my travels to Prague simply because I'm frugal and it's one of the cheapest, most central hostels in the Old Town.

That said, if you're strategic about how you backpack (and pack a lot of patience, and a GOOD lock -- or carry your most valuable things) you can have a decent stay here. Sure, there's a really rude maid who only speaks Czech that will swear you haven't paid for your next night, especially if you sleep-in during her cleaning shift; bad wifi and a kitchen that's overused, but it's a very social hostel if you're up for meeting other travelers.

Still, I recommend this place for saving money. Stayed for day-y-y-ys for under 30 euro. If your main objective is to be out and about in the city, have a cheap place to crash, freshen up and move on, this serves its purpose.

well it's only 7€/night, so we weren't expecting all that much... location is top notch, of course, but they put us in a very roomy but quite damp cellar room which had enough bathrooms, but they were rarely cleaned and lacked toilet paper/ soap. you have to leave a deposit for the kitchen (even if you only want to access the fridge for a second) and it isn't stocked well, only old and broken pots/pans and weirdly small plates, never enough for everyone. staff was friendly and it IS only 7€/day!

One of the best hostels I have ever seen. Czech staffs were not good but foreigners was awesome. Atmosphere was very good. If I will ever go to Prague again I would definitely stay at Chili hostel.

The true meaning of budget hostel. Loved it because of the low costs and location. If you are not a picky type and if you are willing to meet other low-cost backpackers from all around the world, then definitely give it a try. Stayed 2 nights, wish it was 4. Will come again for sure.

The location is easy to find from the main railway station and is within walking distance to the old town. However the staff weren't very helpful, and the overall cleanliness of the hostel wasn't great. The bunks were the most uncomfortable beds and the linen was quite disgusting

Great location, really close to the river and not far from old town. Staff were friendly and helpful. Seemed like a good place to meet people. Only downside was no wifi in the rooms, however this could be accessed in the lounge area.

The location of the hostel is perfect because it is really close to the city center. In the same moment it is almost impossible to find better price around. The atmosphere in the lobby is great and you can always easily meet new friends there. Also there is a kitchen which you can use for free but of course you need to clean after. At the reception are working extremely positive and helpfull people, especially Natalia from Slovakia and Kalcho from Bulgaria. The management of the hostel are helpfull as well and they are doing their best to make the guests happy.
Overall I'd love to come back in Chili hostel because they offer a great value for the price I paid.

We visited Prague and stayed at Chili hostel, we had a great time there and we highly recommend staying there because of many reasons: Firstly, the hostel is situated in the city centre just 7 minutes by foot to the old town square! Secondly, the staff at the reception are very friendly, kind and helpful, they told us which places are worth visiting and recommend us some great places to go have lunch and for night life. Also, our room was very clean, quiet at night time with all the facilities we needed. Finally, for the value of the price we paid it was really worth it. One of the best experiences in staying in a hostel!!

Liked: Very very close to the centre of Prague. Excellent staff who help with any questions. Plenty of room to chill and socialize in the lounge. Cosy and melancholy atmosphere in the lounge, almost felt like a VIP area. Comfortable beds. Cool people.

Disliked: So many stairs for my oh so weak legs ;)

Liked: This was a great place to stay for the price that it is and the location. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. It was walking distance to everything. We did not need to use the metro once as we were able to walk everywhere. The washrooms where extremely clean and where cleaned every morning before we woke up.

Disliked: Although we got upgraded to a larger private dorm, the room was certainly not as clean as the washrooms where. When we pulled the sheets off the mattress there where yellow stains as if someone had peed there and it had not been cleaned properly.
